My Research

My current research interest mainly focuses on the effect of mindfulness breathing meditation on perceived stress levels, heart rate variability, and cognitive functions.

Oral Presentation

One of my recent oral presentation on the acceptability and effectiveness of mindfulness breathing meditation on perceived stress levels and cognitive functions at the MAPSA Conference 2023.

Meditation Research

One of my recent research found that there were significant positive changes in the meditation group after a 5-week online mindfulness breathing meditation intervention on perceived stress levels, attention, inhibitory control, and working memory, as compared to the active control group.

I have published my first paper on "The Association between Divergent Thinking, Personality, and Listening to Classical Music" with Dr. Tan Kok Wei, in the Psychology of Music in Dec 2023.

Our study found that people who listened to happy music had higher originality scores (one of the indices to measure divergent thinking - creativity) than those who listened to sad music or in the silent condition. Our findings also suggest that openminded people have better divergent thinking performance.
